Our primary goal is to provide software and services that allow us to protect
users from objectionable and harmful web content as well as unwanted and
possibly objectionable email (spam). Our two primary products
are a web filter software (Emerald Web Shield) and
a hosted spam filter service (Emerald Spam Shield).

We filter objectionable websites for users in the easiest and most
cost-effective manner possible. Our goal is to provide protection to
users when browsing the web. We also understand that most companies and
schools do not have the staff or the time to spend figuring out what sites
should be blocked in a web filter. We manage the entire system for
you. In most cases we can provide our web filter
service without installing anything on-site. Porn site filtering is a
major concern in every school. We find and filter over 10,000 new porn
sites each week. Porn filtration is a primary goal of our web filter,

Nothing to install on client computers or maintain
Website domain names must be looked up through a DNS server before a
web browser can download the site. By handling those queries as a DNS
server the Emerald Web Shield web filter is able to filter web content in
a new and unique manner. This also means that we are not limited to a
specific platform and our web filter service can filter any machine capable of
browsing the web including Windows, Macintosh, and Unix machines.
Why would I want to use a web filter?
New sites with objectionable and harmful content are published on a daily
basis. Many of the links to these sites are obscure and rarely indicate
the content they contain. And because of the frequent use of web
redirectors you can never count on being in total control of your
browser. We find and filter these porn sites before you can be exposed to
them.
The Emerald Web Shield web filter software eliminates the threat of
known-malicious websites by preventing your browser from even visiting
them. Our real-time List Management system is actively maintained and
updated with new sites as they are discovered (as often as 4 times per

Emerald Spam Shield (anti spam filter service)

The Emerald Spam Shield is an anti spam filter service that utilizes a redundant
cluster of servers to filter spam out of the corporate email stream and send
only desired email on to a company's mail network.
The Emerald Spam Shield takes advantage of a unique and effective real-time
website rating system to provide maximum protection against spam. This
rating system facilitates the detection and filtering of spam from previously
unknown domains. Messages that contain known-bad domains catalogued by
this system can easily be detected.
The Emerald Spam Shield can also "mailbag" your mail in the event that your mail
server is offline. This is similar to using an offsite backup MX service
but with the added benefit of spam filtration. All of your mail is stored
on our network of servers and transmitted when your server is online. We
have servers in datacenters in three different states across the US to ensure
that our servers are always available.
You have complete control over 11 different engines to filter your email. For
any given engine you can choose to simply edit the subject, forward to a
specific mailbox, reject the message, or delete it.
